What size room do I need?

How do I move my things into the storage rooms?
When can I access my room?
Our usual hours of access are Monday – Saturday 7am – 8pm and Sunday 10am – 4pm. However, access outside of these hours can be arranged by prior agreement.
How secure are my stored items?
Each room is padlocked (you hold the key) and alarmed which means that only you have access to your room. The building is alarmed and monitored with CCTV recording 24/7, and is fully fitted with smoke alarms and fire detection equipment and has secure perimeter fencing. Our rooms are made using aluzinc-coated hi-tensile steel which makes it up to four times more corrosion resistant than galvanised steel and it`s strength prevents unwelcome intruders. The doors are made especially to our specifications and combine the latest in lock construction for your safety but are also recessed so ensure that, like our rooms, all surfaces are smooth and snag free for your comfort.
Can I insure my items?
Your items must be insured whilst stored, just as they are whilst in your home or business. We can arrange low cost insurance for your items with Royal Sun Alliance- just call us to put this in place. If your contents policy covers your goods and belongings within our premises, then that is acceptable too. (Please bring your policy documents with you when you take your room). Our storage insurance is offered on a `new for old` basis. This means that the value of your goods must be insured for its new replacement cost, not the current second hand value.
Eg: A 5 year old sofa should be insured for the new replacement cost of £1,000 and not £100 which is probably what its second-hand value would be.
We encourage our customers to regularly review their insurance cover to ensure that the declared value continues to keep pace with rising costs. If your cover isn`t sufficient then the insurers will apply an `average` which we are happy to explain to you.
Are there any other costs?
You will need to purchase a padlock to keep your room secure – you can buy these from our reception.
How long can I stay?
You can rent our rooms for a minimum of one week, or stay for as long as you want. In addition you can move into a smaller or larger unit whenever you wish.
What items can’t I store?
- Hazardous materials – flammable liquids and explosives
- Un-authorised or illegal goods, e.g. drugs
- Firearms and ammunition
- Living things
- Items that could decompose, e.g. exposed food stuffs.
How can I pay?
Debit/credit card, standing order, direct debit and bank transfer.
What are your office/shop opening hours?
The store is open Monday to Friday 9.30am to 4pm and Saturday 9.30am to 2pm. If you would like to visit outside of these hours we can arrange a time to suit you.
Can I buy Packaging from you?
Yes! We sell everything you need to help the move go smoothly – from boxes to bubble wrap!
